New Construction
If you are building a new home, remember to begin planning for your heating and cooling system along with your blueprints! It is much easier and less expensive to install your new environmental control system at the same time as your plumbing, electrical and telephone systems. Ed's Household Heat and Air is well experienced with new-construction installation.
Planning and scheduling around the other contractors working to complete your home is one important factor of new-home installation. For instance: The ductwork goes in after the carpenters have framed the walls but before the sheet-rock contractor begins, but the ceiling registers cannot be installed till the painting is done. It is a process we have been completing successfully since 1967. Technology has come a long way since then, and we've kept up with it.
Each new floor plan is a fresh challenge of duct design, air flow rates, system selection and even finding the best spots for thermostat placement and return air filter grilles. We can start planning your comfort from the drawing board!

Installation
The proper installation of your new air conditioning or heating system is nearly as important as choosing the right unit to keep your home comfortable. If your home was not originally designed for central air,
Robert Illane will evaluate your options, recommend locations for inside and outside components, and alert you to any changes which may need to be made to your home's electrical service. You'll get a written estimate which will encompass the full range of installation services required.
Your home's energy efficiency can also be checked while the house is being inspected to prepare for the design of the installation. The money saving suggestions you'll get will make it easier to get maximum comfort out of your new system.
Some homes are easier to retrofit with central heat and air than are others. There are many large, older homes on the Mississippi Gulf Coast which have a truly wonderful amount of attic space which makes finding room for ductwork a breeze. Ed's heat and air can even help you with any applications you may need to make with the National Historical Register or local historic preservation entities prior to adding a central environmental control system to your classic home.
Other situations, such as concrete walls and flat roofs require different approaches... and believe it or not, Ed's Household Heat and Air is up to the task.
Remodeling
As with new construction, planning to tie a new room addition into your current air conditioning and heating system requires some planning. Sometimes remodeling can be a good time to upgrade your old environmental control system with a new one which will be more efficient or large enough to handle the load of heating or cooling an increased square footage. Call Ed's Household Heat & Air when you feel the need to make your home roomier and more comfortable.
